Il nostro astuccio di lusso è realizzato a mano nell'atelier Kent di Anya Sushko con pregiata pelle di vacchetta proveniente dall'Italia. Il sofisticato esterno turchese è compensato da un'elegante fodera floreale in cotone Liberty e da una cerniera centrale in metallo color oro. Il logo del marchio appare sul lato anteriore dell'astuccio turchese su un timbro in pelle turchese elegantemente goffrato, rifinito con un dettaglio di cucitura gialla.
Questo pezzo pratico ma bello invecchierà bene man mano che la pelle matura. È abbastanza grande da contenere tutti gli elementi essenziali necessari ma abbastanza piccolo da stare comodamente nella borsa. Each refill has 80 sheets (160 sides) of lined cream paper and is 80g in weight.
Handmade in England
Each product is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans in England with great attention to detail, using traditional leather making techniques. The products are handmade in the finest Italian full-grain leather, which is beautifully soft and only gets better with age. The raw edges of the leather are finished using a specialist hot iron and after that a few coats of water-resistant dye in dark brown is applied to keep them smooth and polished.
Leathercraft is an intricate and mesmerising process. It can take weeks, even months, to take the product from an initial idea to the final prototype, depending on the complexity of the design and detail involved.
About the Designer
Anya says: “It is so fulfilling to observe how, from a flat piece of leather, a three-dimensional product appears that is not only beautiful but also practical and useful. Sometimes I look at some of my complex products and can hardly believe I handmade them myself! The amount of work that goes into making bags is incredible".
Born in Riga, Latvia, when it was still part of the USSR, Anya’s childhood was marked by the typical Soviet challenges: no access to foreign goods and limited exposure to Western culture. Anya compensated for this, like a lot of Russians, by involving herself vigorously in classical Russian arts such as ballet, gymnastics, piano-playing and fine art. From an early age, with the encouragement of her mother, Anya also learnt to make herself beautiful clothes and accessories.
Her creative flair led her to study architecture and then interior design in Riga. Later, she was talent-spotted by the Central Saint Martins’s College of Art and Design in London, and after graduating from there she undertook a degree in Product Design Development for Leather Accessories at the London College of Fashion.
